Sometimes people ask me why I love David Bowie so much.

... and my answer is always "Because he's f*cking awesome."
This is not an opinion I hold, but a fact as concrete as gravity.

This concert took place in 1973 at the Hammersmith Odeon in London and marked the final concert of his space-alien alter ego Ziggy Stardust and his band, The Spiders from Mars.

I mean really. The women in the front row are practically climaxing through the sheer power of his rocking.

New Music - Holy F*ck

I'll admit: the reason I downloaded their album was because of their name. I just couldn't imagine what a band named "Holy Fuck" could possibly sound like. Well, in answer to that question, they sound damn good. They lay down some pretty, upbeat instrumental post-rock which makes for some enjoyable (albiet sometimes challenging) listening.


They also have a unique song writing method that they employ on tour, giving them their signature sound"

"Without rehearsing or arranging parts prior to hitting the stage, Holy Fuck wrote the songs from their album, LP, live on tour. Each time they'd return from tour they'd check into a studio and cathartically capture the energy of the live show, recording the songs that had now taken shape. The only problem was they had too much material. A couple of unfortunate computer hard drive crashes later a good chunk of the material was lost. Maybe this was a good thing as it brought to light recording sessions that would have been otherwise overlooked, like the live satellite radio recording on Verge XM, or “Super Inuit”, taken from a live recording made while on tour with !!!. I am of the opinion that truly great bands should just dissappear after their careers have run their course. Here are two videos for your consideration. Both were from a late night talk show. Same format, same band, same song. 17 years difference. In the first film we see a band at the height of their creative power, still largely unknown. They look excited and glad to be there. In the second, they just look dumpy and sad.
